Kathputli(PUPPET)-Origin and basic forms in India

A Puppet dance is a form of theatre or performance of operation of puppet.
The process of animating inanimate performing objects through puppets.
It is used in form of both as entertainment -in- performance and ceremonially in rituals and celebrations such as carnivals.
The art has Originated in india since 4000 years ago .The main theme of this art where the main character in Sanskrit plays was known as " Sutradhara" ," the holder of Strings".
Its stories mainly based of puranic literature , local myths and legends.
There are four types of Puppet dance in India:
1) String Puppet, 2) Shadow puppet, 3) Glove puppet, 4) Rod Puppet.
